Common Questions

Does Hopsie charge any additional transaction fees?
Nope. The payment processors charge their fees of 2.2% + 30 cents of each transaction, and Hopsie charges its monthly rate. We don’t charge more to groups that raise more because our costs don’t change all that much, and because our biggest priority is putting the maximum towards the causes we work with.

Are donations secure?
Yes. Every Hopsie page is encrypted by an industry leading Secure Socket Layer (SSL), giving the same security as major US Banks. All payment processors that we integrate with are PCI level 1, the highest level of compliance. Security is a priority for us.

Can donor’s manage their own recurring gifts?
Yes, with Hopsie’s donor login, donors can store & update payment information, view and print out all tax receipts, and manage existing recurring gifts.

How do I get the funds I raise?
It depends on the payment processor you choose. Stripe will direct deposit the funds in 2 business days, whereas Paypal will deposit the funds when you trigger a transfer. As Hopsie is built separately from the payment processing, the account is yours and the control over the the funds is yours. None of your donations ever pass through Hopsie’s hands.

Do we have to sign up for a contract?
No. We are a month-to-month service; you can choose any plan at any time. Our customer engagement strategy is driven by an amazing product and excellent support, not contracts.

Can anyone raise money on Hopsie?
No, we are a service dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations & charities build & improve their online giving channel.
